Today I am going to share my understanding of what God intended our universe to be. Many may think it sounds like a fairy tale, but through my study, using logic and reason, I have witnessed and experienced demonstrations of God’s creation. I know it is a present possibility. The Kingdom of Heaven is our home and is always available to us. It is a divine state of mind, as we live and move and have our being in God, the Kingdom of heaven.
I was looking out the window this morning admiring God’s creation, and how perfectly it was adjusting for the coming winter where it will be dormant awaiting its rebirth in the spring. The universe that God created functions perfectly. How could it do otherwise? Take all that mankind has done and built out of the picture for a moment and see this perfection.
The whole universe is a product of intelligent first cause. It is completely balanced. The beautiful night sky filled with stars, our sun, and the moon and all the planets that revolve around our sun are always in their right place. On our planet, all the plants know when to grow and when to be dormant. Our weather, without human intervention, is perfect. It knows to pull the moisture up and form clouds and when to rain to replenish the earth. Everything has a purpose and is in its right place, and everything has a time to come forth and a time to stand fast.
Then along comes mankind into this beautiful spiritual creation. He has evolved through many stages and believes this is a material creation. But he misunderstands what is going on. He does not know who he is. What is this place, and what is his purpose here? In his quest to answer those questions, he makes many mistakes. He changes the face of God’s spiritual universe to match what he believes is his place and purpose, instead of living as God’s image and likeness, in His perfectly functioning and balanced divine creation.
God intended for mankind to be happy and live together in perfect harmony. To build together a world where we could exist and grow in peace. I know this because God is good, and evil cannot be a product of good.
Does it make sense that an intelligent, loving creator would create a universe in conflict, a world that would destroy itself? Of course not. He wants us to evolve into love, beauty and to live in harmony with one another. He created us to be like Him.
I knew I had to prove this in my experience before I could share it with others. When I changed my thoughts and actions from a place of confusion and dismay to a place of love, then my life did a complete about-face. When I started to see those around me from God’s point of view, I began to witness His good creation. That is my hope for all mankind. We are all His children.
Yes, there is conflict and pestilence in this world. But it is not here to stay. It is not a part of God’s creation; it is our misconception of his creation. As mankind, one at a time, learns to view creation from God’s point of view, as Jesus did, mankind will realize he is spiritual, God’s image and likeness, where good is more natural than evil, and health more natural than sickness. Then our universe will slowly start to be seen, as it always has been, spiritually perfect.
No one knows when we will see universal peace, but that does not mean we should give up. We may need to evolve another million years, though I hope not. But, one at a time, we can improve a small part of our world and pass it on to our children and friends, and universal peace will come when all mankind is in one accord, then God’s creation will be seen in all His Glory, right here where we are, this is His creation, let us see it that way.
God can only be what He is, a source of Love and Peace. He knows we are struggling and is here for us 24/7; we have only to seek Him. He cannot force us to do anything; we have to realize the error of our ways before we can realize we have always been his perfect child, then we are ready to see His creation from his point of view, and God’s peace will reign on earth.
God had mercy on mankind and sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to explain His spiritual creation and who mankind is. But most of mankind was not ready to believe him. They did not want to give up what they thought was their power over this world. So, they tried to stop him.
Where we saw evil and sickness, Jesus saw goodness and health. All his parables clearly describe how we can enter God’s creation. All his healings of sickness, both mental and physical, healings of financial needs, healings of loss, of all needs being met, were done because he saw the world from God’s point of view, and he shared that view with all those around him.
Jesus came to us with a full knowledge of who he was as God’s son. That is the only thing that makes him different from us. We are also God’s sons and daughters, but we have lost our way, and God sent him to get us back on track, to reconcile man to God.
Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) He is speaking of our misconception of the world. He has overcome that and sees only God’s creation.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27) He gave us all we needed to know to find peace on earth.
“Let the reign of peace and harmony be supreme and forever yours.” (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 156:11)
