Overcoming Fear and Trusting God.

Here it is another week, and I have not started on my blog yet. I still work as a consultant for the company I have worked for the last 30 years. I usually put in only a very few hours a week. I mostly answer their question and solve a few problems for them, and occasionally they give me a project, like Tuesday this week. 🙂 I worked nine and a half hours Tuesday and five and a half on Wednesday, so much for an hour here and there. I love what I do, so it is not a big deal; in fact, I like the extra money. Being almost retired and on a fixed income, a little extra income comes in handy.

When I do not know what to write about, I usually sit down at my computer and start typing anything, and as I type the ideas begin to flow.  There are no comparisons in God’s creation. That is a good topic. I was also thinking about something that happened with my daughter a couple weeks ago.

Darchele, my daughter, told me about a problem she was having, and I was concerned. You know how it is with parents; we do worry about our kids. Of course, she is not a kid anymore; she is in her forties, but you know I still worry.

I could not fix this kind of problem. I went on with my day, and almost forgot about it, and then worry set in again. I went to bed that night and had the oddest dream. Darchele was about five and had fallen. I ran to her and scooped her up and said, “Are you okay?” She looked at me funny as if to say, why would you ask me that, and she said, “You know I am.” Right then, I realized God was with her, as he is with all his children, and yes, I know she is okay. I got up the next morning, turned the music on, and went about my day without a worry. I trust God, and he is protecting my child, his child.

She sent me a text the next afternoon to let me know that everything was fine. See what happens when you put fear and worry behind you. These things happen to me all the time, so I know it is not, “well it would have happened anyway.” When I remember what God has done for me in the past, then it is easy to trust him in the present, and know he will be there in the future.

It is hard to think in the spiritual when I walk in the flesh. No one ever said it was easy. The spirit is not subject to the things that are happening in this three-dimensional world. I have found when I elevate my thought, my consciousness, to the level of my spiritual identity, where I reflect God and all his qualities, that it affects my experience on this level. Look at all the stories in the Bible, where what seemed to be impossible things, happened. That is because the people who were involved understood who they were, and listened to God.

I have learned that my prayers should focus on getting a better understanding, of who I am, in relation to God, not to make something change here. The changes here are the result of overcoming fear and getting a glimpse of my true identity.

If I fear, lose, or lack, I cannot overcome them. If I fear driving, I cannot drive. Whatever I fear prevents me from moving forward. I overcome fear by knowing I am the spiritual image and likeness of God, that is my true identity, and I am not subject to any of those things.

As God’s likeness, I cannot lack anything, I am intelligent, and know the rules of the road and will be safe, as God’s likeness, no harm can come to me. If harm should come to me in this experience, God will lead me through it and give me peace. Knowing all this alleviates fear.  That is a simple explanation; there is a lot more to it.

I just read a blog about miracles. It was interesting. As most of us know, many out there do not believe in miracles; they think those that claim to witness them are lying or off balance. They cannot conceive of anything that can work outside the laws of the physical universe. The writer of the blog I read gave the reason why he believed. 🙂

I believe they area divinely natural phenomenon experienced humanly as the fulfillment of spiritual law, which is why they defy the laws of the physical universe. Most of the experiences I attribute to God are adjustments to human circumstances and do not defy the laws of the physical universe. Nevertheless, they did on first consideration, seem to be something that would not change, but eventually did. However, I did have one experience that did defy those laws, and will one-day blog about it, but not today.

We can change our human circumstances, as I have done many times. Those changes came about when I began to understand, just because someone said something, does not make it so. The first years of our lives, those that raised us, may or may not have been good examples. They may have made us believe things that were not true. Understanding the Father/Mother, God was my true parent, and what that meant, changed all the circumstances of my life.

We all need to discover this for ourselves; it is not something that someone else can give us.  All the reading and study I did was leading me in the right direction, and at one point, I had to make it my own. It is that little light bulb, which pops on in your consciousness. That moment when you think, WOW I get it, and you know you have connected with God. Every time I think about this, it brings tears to my eyes, as I remember the moment when God revealed himself to me. It is hard to describe the feeling, but when it happens to you, it is undeniable.

This revelation is available to all God’s children, it is not exclusive, and only for a select few, it is natural for us to connect with our maker. Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12. He was telling us the power was not his alone, it came from the Father, and we can access that power too. We are his image and likeness and can claim all his divine qualities. They are ours by reflection.  “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21

WOW, this is certainly not, what I expected to write today, it just happened. I hope it had some meaning for you. I will write about “there are no comparisons in God’s creation” another time.

Bless you all, and have a great day!
