This blog includes many quotes, as my pastor, the Bible and Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures, words things much better than I can.
Truth is a word that many of us mull around and try to figure out. I have discovered that as long as I view it on a truth/lie daily personal level, I would never understand Truth. Truth with a capital “T” is a synonym for God. It only relates to His creation. Truth with a small “t” is subject to “point of view.” God, Truth comes to us in “the still small voice” of Love, and never guides us wrong. We are either ignoring it or listening to it and reaping the benefits. I write about all these benefits in my blogs.
Mrs. Eddy writes; “Truth is affirmative, and confers harmony. All metaphysical logic is inspired by this simple rule of Truth, which governs all reality.” Page 428: 20-22.
When faced with a truth/lie situation, my spiritual sense lifts my thought to the Truth of God’s creation, and I hold my thought on the fact that I am the spiritual image and likeness of God, which corrects all incorrect impressions. Doing this allows me to live without feeling trapped by “lies” about who, where, and what I am. This sustains my existence on a more harmonious level.
I love Jesus’ parable of the sower and the seed. He tells about how the seed when sown fell in different places and follows it with this:
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8:11-15 “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11:28
I have probably been through all those scenarios’; it is a learning process. I struggled and beat myself up many times over many years before I got it right. However, I am only human, and occasionally I land “among thorns… when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.” Mrs. Eddy writes; “The inaudible voice of Truth is to the human mind, “as when a lion roareth.” It is heard in the desert and in dark places of fear.” Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures page 559: 10-12. I love this quote; it tells me I cannot stay in the thorns long without God’s intervention. Thank you, God. 🙂
There was a time in my young adult life that everything was going wrong. My life was a disaster. I had gone through seventeen years of abuse, and at eighteen, I even attempted suicide. My abuser had taken me to Sunday school until I was sixteen, but never practiced at home what they were teaching me there. God was never there for me then, so who needed Him now. I had turned my back on Him and anything that had to do with Him. I had judged God on the actions of my church-going abuser.
When I was forty-five something wonderful happened, I found God. Only this time, I realized my mistake. He had been there for me, but I did not know it. I talk about this in my blog, “Did an Omnipotent God allow Child Abuse?” I learned the Truth, and it changed my life forever. There are spiritual principles, which if applied, made changes in my life for the better. I discovered the “still small voice” and listened. Well, I have to admit it took a while to trust that voice, but eventually, I did. God is here for me, and I know that now
My life experience is the true measure of my understanding and cannot be hidden or kept secret. Though my “straight and narrow path” had many zigs and zags in the past, I make every effort to keep it straight now. 🙂
Jesus said; “To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth (God). Every one that is of the truth (God) heareth my voice.John18:37 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth (God), and the truth (God) shall make you free”. John 8:31, 32
That “still small voice” of Truth is there for all of us. Listen and receive the benefits.
God loves you! Have a wonderful day!
