“Be still, and know that I am God:”

This week I am thinking about God again. God is such an all-consuming subject; it would be impossible to hit on all the aspects of God, even if we talked about Him for a lifetime. I have heard Him spoke about as if there were more than one God, your God, and my God. There is only one God, but many different beliefs about him. If He is all and infinite, there can only be one.

Jesus, also known as Master or Rabbi, came to teach us about God and made it clear that we need to prove what we understand. The language of Spirit is spoken of in the Gospel of Mark as the new tongue, “the spiritual meaning of which is attained through “signs following.”

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” Mark 16:17-20

The signs following are my proofs that I was gaining some speck of understanding God and my relation to Him as His reflection. (Image and likeness) Those signs were the improvements in my life.  In I Thessalonians 5:17-22 it is written, “Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.”  When I do this, I stay on the right path, and my life is harmonious.

God is Spirit, and I am his spiritual image and likeness and coexist with God, and as His image, I am spiritual. In this experience, I took form and to live the life that He wanted for me I need to embody all His spiritual qualities, by doing that, I express my fundamental nature, which is spiritual. 🙂 Mortals alone attach a physical nature and significance to His manifestations.

Now it sounds like taking something spiritual and making it into something physical. However, that is not what is going on. Trying to put spiritual ideas in human language is very difficult.

Jesus took spiritual ideas and told parables putting the ideas into a context the people of his day could understand.

Everything here starts with thoughts and ideas, and are manifested for me to experience. In this experience, I need to “resolve things back into thought.” I have to take the “signs following” and put them back into the spiritual realm where they started. Bring them full circle. This helps me to understand who I really am. Spiritually I am the manifestation of God’s thoughts, His idea, and the embodiment of his qualities and the “signs following’ in my human experience, are my proof of progress.

This experience is a projection, (hologram) if you will, of my belief system based on my current understanding. It is out here for my consideration and correction.

Jesus tells a parable of the tares and wheat. When asked if they should pull up the tares, he tells the workers, “no.” Let them grow together until they mature so you can tell them apart, else you may pull up the good wheat by mistake. Keep in mind that the wheat was sown first. I am going to apply this parable to my life; however, it can be applied to many different situations.

After seventeen years of abuse, I finally stood up and told. One might think alas finally she is free, but that is not the case, the tares had been sewn, the damage was done, and they could not be uprooted yet. I was already uprooting some of the good wheat, and I had to mature and realize who I really was. Then I had to start making the right choices. Every right choice I made uprooted a tare, until finally, my wheat field was clear of tares. However, still, one will pop up occasionally, but I have learned how to deal with those pesky tares. I burn them, as Jesus suggested, one at a time. With all the distractions that beset me every day, it is not an easy task, but I will never give up putting my life right, one-step at a time.

The proof of Christianity is to “repent,” (think again) then harmony reigns. Matt. 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  “At hand,” that means right here, right now, where Spirit reigns, in the realm of Divine Harmony. When I am living, God’s will, “heaven is at hand.”

There are many references in the Bible about heaven. They refer to the atmosphere above, as the heavens; they refer to, going to heaven, and the quote about Jesus, “he was received up into heaven,” none of these negate what I have written. I go to heaven every time I am living in accord with Gods will. Every time I elevate my thought above this experience to my spiritual reality, I am received up into heaven, which is what Jesus did. He understood so clearly who he was that he no longer needed a body to express himself. After 2,000 years he is still influencing peoples lives, even though he has no physical form.

You have heard the saying ashes to ashes, will I prefer spiritual to spiritual. The ashes are the claim that we started as dust and we return to dust, Genesis II.  I believe we started spiritual and remained spiritual, Genesis I, and like Jesus, at some point, we give up this human form and reclaim our original state. Of course, other than Jesus and two other individuals in Bible days, no one has reached that advanced understanding and ascended, but it is something to aim for.

“Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” Rev. 19:6
